Taking a hike is a great way to relax and decompress from all the stresses in your life. I found this amazing hiking path just outside my city that has tons of different terrains and sights. I managed to get out to experience the path on an extremely nice day. The sun was out and small clouds were passing by every few minutes. The temperature was 4 degrees celcius so the air felt crisp and cold but the colours made up for it. I wish you could have been there to see it with me! I don't think I have ever seen such vibrant colours of red, yellow and orange before all in one place. It must have been right at the peak of transition between summer and autumn because the leaves were going through all the different stages. There were some that were still thriving on the branches, others that were falling off trees or had just fallen on the floor and then others that had fallen awhile ago and had turned into a brown crunchy leaf that people end up stepping on. The forest was so quiet and peaceful as the leaves absorbed the sounds from the city not too far from here. Of course there were sounds of crunching of twigs and leaves as I walked along the path but for the most part it was silent.

The river that travels alongside the hiking trail adds a very calming element. When you see it from a far it looks as still as glass, but when you get close enough you can see slight movement and hear trickles of the water running down the stream. At some parts of the stream the water isn't deep at all so you can see small fish swimming around and going about their day. I love to see small bits of wildlife doing their own thing in nature as it reminds me that there is more to life than stressing over small things when it is just a blessing to be alive and a part of this world.
